Are your leaflets actually working for you?

A well-designed leaflet can be one of the most cost-effective tools in your marketing strategy – but only if it’s done right.

Are you thinking about designing a new leaflet for your next marketing campaign?

Here are my top 10 tips for a winning leaflet:

  • Use full colour: Leaflets look great in full colour and are very cost-effective.

  • Highlight your USP: Make it clear what your unique selling point (USP) is to get a good response.

  • Include time-bound offers: Use offers like "half price this month" or calls to action such as "call for a free quote" to generate interest.

  • Invest in design: Consider spending 30% of your budget on leaflet design. You only get one chance to make a great first impression.

  • Use effectively: Leaflets are very effective marketing tools when used correctly.

  • Stand out: A well-designed leaflet can help you stand out from the herd.

  • Stay in touch: Use leaflets to keep in touch with your customers and advertise special offers.

  • Explain benefits: Make sure your leaflet explains why customers should buy from you and highlights the benefits.

  • Maximise impact: Use the top third of your leaflet for maximum impact – this is the part that's seen in a display.

  • Timing matters: According to research, October is one of the best times to insert your leaflet into a magazine.

Would you read your own leaflet? If not, it’s time to rethink your design.
